Selection Process for SBI CBO 2024
The selection process comprises an Online Examination, Screening, and Interview.
The online examination consists of Objective Tests totaling 120 marks and a Descriptive Test worth 50 marks. After completing the Objective Test, candidates will proceed to the Descriptive Test, where they will be required to input their responses on the computer.
Prepare yourself for the Objective Test challenge! This evaluation spans a duration of 2 hours and is compartmentalized into 4 distinct sections, with a total of 120 marks available. Each section is allocated a designated time slot to ensure equity and effectiveness.
Section I focuses on the English test, comprising 30 questions with a maximum score of 30 marks, to be completed within 30 minutes. Following this is Section II, which delves into Banking Knowledge, featuring 40 questions worth 40 marks to be addressed in 40 minutes. Section III explores General Awareness and Economy, encompassing 30 questions with a score of 30 marks to be completed within a 30-minute timeframe. Lastly, Section IV evaluates Computer Aptitude through 20 questions worth 20 marks within a concise 20-minute period.
Overall, candidates have 2 hours to navigate through the 120 questions in all sections and achieve a maximum score of 120 marks. Best of luck in your examination endeavor!
The Descriptive Test is a 30-minute assessment that evaluates English language proficiency through Letter Writing and Essay tasks. It comprises two questions totaling 50 marks, without any sectional qualifying criteria. The minimum aggregate qualifying marks will be determined by the Bank. Unlike the Objective Tests, there are no penalties for incorrect answers, and sectional marks do not apply in the Online Examination.
Following the online examination, candidates will undergo a thorough screening process by the Bank’s Screening Committee to verify compliance with the specified experience criteria for the Scale-I Generalist Officer position at the State Bank of India. The Committee will meticulously compare the candidates’ submitted job profiles (validated by their current or previous employer(s)) with the requirements of the Scale-I Generalist Officer role. Any significant disparities will lead to immediate rejection of the application.
The Bank reserves the right to set appropriate parameters for aligning candidates’ job profiles with the position’s requirements. The Bank’s decision is final and binding for all applicants, with no scope for further appeals.
A merit list will be generated based on the total marks obtained in the Online Test by candidates meeting the experience criteria established by the Screening Committee, categorized by Circle and Category. Subsequently, candidates up to three times the number of vacancies in each Circle and Category, subject to the availability of qualified individuals, will be invited for interviews starting from the top of the merit list. It is important to note that clearing the online examination does not guarantee an interview opportunity.
Interview Process for SBI CBO 2024
The interview component carries a weightage of 50 marks, playing a significant role in determining a candidate’s advancement to the final selection stage. The Bank will establish the specific minimum qualifying marks for the interview.
Applicants categorized as ‘OBC’ must provide an OBC certificate containing the ‘Non-Creamy layer’ provision. Failure to submit the required OBC ‘Non-Creamy layer’ certificate by individuals identifying as OBC, who subsequently seek consideration under the General category, will result in disqualification.
Similarly, candidates eligible for the interview under the EWS category must submit an EWS certificate detailing their gross annual income for the financial year 2022-23, adhering to the guidelines established by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). Candidates who classify themselves as EWS but do not furnish the necessary EWS certificate indicating their gross annual income for the financial year 2022-23 in accordance with DoPT guidelines and later opt for consideration under the General category will not be accommodated.
Final Selection of SBI CBO 2024
Applicants must successfully complete both an Online Examination and an Interview process. The scores from the Online Test, encompassing both the Objective and Descriptive segments, will be amalgamated with the Interview evaluations to ascertain the final ranking. The definitive merit roster will be formulated by standardizing the marks attained in both the Online Test and Interview, with the Online Test carrying a weight of 75% and the Interview carrying a weight of 25%.
The marks secured by candidates in the Online Test (with a maximum score of 170) will be adjusted to a total of 75 marks, while the Interview ratings (with a maximum score of 50) will be converted to 25 marks. The conclusive merit list, categorized by region and group, will be derived by summing up the converted marks from the Online Test and Interview out of a potential total of 100. Selections will be conducted from the top-ranking candidates in the merit list organized by region and category.
