CSD AFD Online Portal – Login Method
CSD finalizes its sales via the online platform in the final three days of each month to reconcile accounts with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). Nonetheless, there appears to be some misunderstanding regarding the maintenance mode message shown on the CSD AFD Online Portal Registration. The AFD CSD AFD Online Portal Registration enters scheduled maintenance whenever new rates are being uploaded. Sales generally commence on the first day of each month, contingent on the receipt of new rates from the OEMs. Products will be accessible on the CSD AFD Online Portal Registration only after the OEMs have provided their rates for that month’s sales.

Entitlement for AFD-I items: Two Wheeler, Fridge, Washing Machine, and more
The opportunity to buy Additional Flexible Duty-1 (AFD-I) items, which include Two-wheelers, Refrigerators, Washing Machines, Televisions, Air Conditioners, Mobile Phones, and Laptops, has been expanded to include certain groups of canteen smartcard holders at all salary levels. This encompasses Active Armed Forces Members, Retired Armed Forces Members, Current Defence Civilian Staff, and Retired Defence Civilian Staff.
Unlike the purchase of vehicles, there is no minimum service requirement for acquiring other AFD-I products. All the mentioned categories of canteen smartcard holders can obtain these items without any restrictions based on their service duration.
In terms of how often one can buy various AFD-I products such as TVs, ACs, Refrigerators, Mobile Phones, Laptops, Desktops, Washing Machines, and Two-wheelers, the following rules are in place:
- TVs: Up to two units can be acquired every four years.
- ACs: A maximum of four units can be purchased within a four-year period.
- Other AFD-I Items (excluding Four-wheelers): One unit may be obtained in a four-year span from the last purchase date.
The frequency of purchases will be periodically assessed by the Office of the Directorate General Canteen Services, with any modifications communicated as they arise.
When it comes to repurchasing within the same category, any item can only be bought once during a designated timeframe.
Entitlement for AFD-I Items: Four Wheeler Purchases
Who is allowed to buy four-wheelers through the CSD AFD Online Portal Registration? There are three distinct entitlement groups: Officers, JCO, and OR, each with its own spending limit. If a user encounters the specified message, they should opt for a different item that costs less and falls within their respective category or limit.
The following groups of canteen smartcard holders are permitted to acquire various AFD products: Current Defence Civilians (Pay Level 11 and above), Retired Defence Civilians (Pay Level 11 and above), Active Armed Forces Personnel (Pay Levels 1 to 18), and Retired Armed Forces Personnel (Pay Levels 1 to 18). CSD AFD Purchase: Everything You Need to Know
Individuals authorized to acquire four-wheel vehicles using a canteen smartcard belong to certain designated groups. This privilege is granted to Serving Defence Civilians at Pay Level 11 and above, as well as Retired Defence Civilians at the same pay scale. Furthermore, Serving Armed Forces Personnel from Pay Level 1 to 18 are included, along with Retired Armed Forces Personnel within that same range.
Per the guidelines set forth by the AFD Portal, a vehicle cannot be transferred until five years have elapsed since its original purchase. Therefore, even if you pass ownership of your first vehicle to a family member, you must still wait for those five years to lapse before you can make a new purchase via the portal. Additionally, regulations dictate that any new vehicle acquisition can only occur after another five-year waiting period following the last purchase.
Payments cannot be made using accounts belonging to your spouse, wife, or children. However, if you share a joint account with your spouse or children and are the primary account holder, you may draw from that account for payments. To facilitate this, all joint account holders must submit an official declaration permitting transactions specifically for AFD-I item purchases through the designated portal.
Beneficiaries have the option to make partial payments, allowing for up to two installments, but no more. This setup provides financial flexibility by enabling payments to be divided into smaller, more manageable amounts.
The responsibilities of CSD conclude upon the delivery of the product. After that point, any services related to after-sales support, warranty claims, registration, insurance, and similar matters fall entirely on the customer. In these subsequent processes, CSD has no involvement, leaving it up to the customer to handle them independently.
