2024-25 RTE Second-Round Seat Allotment Announcement
The upcoming academic year, 2024-25, in Karnataka will witness the implementation of the second round of seat allocation under the Right to Education (RTE) Act through an online lottery scheduled for 25th June 2024. From 25th June to 2nd July 2024, parents of each allocated child will receive SMS notifications in both Kannada and English languages.
Upon receipt of this notification, parents of the chosen child must access the departmental website to generate a printout of the seat allocation copy by entering the seat selection application number. Following this, they are required to visit the selected school with the printed document, the child’s original Aadhaar card, and the RTE application to finalize the registration process. Notably, parents must ensure their child’s enrollment in the school by the deadline of 2nd July 2024. Additionally, the chosen school is expected to update the enrolled child’s details online by 3rd July 2024.
Enrollment for Lower Kindergarten (LKG) or Class 1 at Unaided Private Schools in Karnataka for the academic session 2024-25 falls under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act. Enacted in 2009, the RTE Act is a pivotal national legislation mandating no-charge elementary education for children aged 6 to 14 years.
Applicable across all Indian States and Union Territories, this Act specifically underscores the importance of facilitating educational access in local unassisted private schools. Notably, Section 12(1)(c) of the RTE Act of 2009 requires that at least a quarter of the total Class 1 capacity in neighborhood schools be set aside for youngsters belonging to underprivileged communities and disadvantaged groups. Karnataka RTE School Admission 2024-25: First Round on 7.6.2024
The Karnataka RTE School Admission process for the academic year 2024-25 has undergone changes in its timetable due to the Government of Karnataka rescheduling the date for announcing the lottery draw results. The Department of School Education, located at the Commissioner’s Office on Nripatunga Road in Bangalore 560001, is overseeing these proceedings in line with Section 12(1)(b) of the Right to Education Act 2009.
This adjustment also involves an extension of the start date as outlined in section 12(1)(c) of the Act. Originally planned for 05.06.2024, the online lottery draw has been delayed due to unforeseen circumstances, particularly related to the Election Code of Conduct. A new timeline has been issued, with the first round of seat allocation through an online platform now set for 07.06.2024. School registrations are anticipated to kick off from 08.06.2024 and run until 19.06.2024, followed by the second round of seat allocation on 25.06.2024.

Karnataka RTE School Admission 2024-25 Last Date
Karnataka’s state government has implemented significant modifications to the enrollment procedures for the academic session of 2024-2025. The cutoff for admissions in all private unassisted schools in Karnataka under the Right to Education Act (RTE) has been prolonged from the original 22nd of April 2024 to the new date of 20th May 2024.
Karnataka RTE School Admission 2024-25 Lottery Result
Families seeking to enroll their children are encouraged to complete the online application within the specified timeframe, from March 22, 2024, to May 20, 2024. Once applications are submitted by March 23, 2024, a detailed review will be carried out to ensure adherence to the guidelines. The list of qualified candidates for the lottery will be revealed on June 1, 2024, followed by the initial round of seat assignments on June 5, 2024. The school enrollment process will then kick off on June 6, 2024, and continue through June 13, 2024.
Karnataka RTE School Admission 2024-25 2nd Round Process on 25.6.2024
Online software will be utilized for the upcoming round of seat allocation, scheduled for 19th June 2024. Subsequently, from 20th June 2024 to 27th June 2024, parents are encouraged to finalize the enrollment of their children in the allocated school seats. To ensure admission to their preferred institutions, parents are urged to complete the second round of school enrollment by 20th June 2024.
