For an individual to be eligible as a Category – II Technician (Diploma) Apprentice, they must fulfill the following basic educational criteria: Possession of a full-time Diploma in Engineering or Technology from a State Council or Board of Technical Education set up by a State Government in the appropriate field; alternatively, a full-time Diploma in Engineering or Technology awarded by a University in the relevant discipline; or a Diploma in Engineering and Technology from an institution acknowledged by either the State or Central Government as equivalent to the diplomas mentioned earlier.

The Board of Apprenticeship Training (SR) is tasked with compiling a roster of candidates based on the online applications received. The selection process will hinge on the percentage of marks attained in the pertinent core qualification for each field. Candidates who make the shortlist will be informed via the email addresses they submitted. Those selected are required to participate in a Certificate Verification session at the TANGEDCO office.
